Over the last 11 years, Jo-Anne Oldfield has managed to raise an incredible £125,000 to support Chesterfield's Royal Hospital Neo-Natal Unit. A charity incredibly close to Jo-Anne and all of the team here at The Sitwell Arms.
Jo-Anne has thrived in her charitable mission by holding over a dozen fundraising events, from Black Tie Dinners to sponsored Tough Mudder! Each event raises more than the last, and we are excited to be alongside this journey to see even more amazing work that Jo-Anne has left to do.
This money has improved the lives of so many families by providing facilities, equipment and staff training to the Neo-Natal Unit, and we couldn't have done it without the help and generosity of everyone involved.
Jo-Anne's fundraising efforts haven't gone unrecognised, in 2021 she was asked to be part of the charity development board for the new Health & Wellbeing Hub for Chesterfield Royal Hospital's staff, as well as being a finalist for the "Pride of Britain Awards" in 2022.

Brand New Child Loss Memorial Site
On the 18th September 2024 Jo-Anne planted a blossom tree in memory of her son's 11th birthday, on the grounds to the Sitwell Arms. The tree will flourish and grow, and represent the strength of a parent's love for their late child. A brand new reflection area has been created for the tree, where parents and families can visit and pay tribute to their children.
On the 21st September many grieving parents and families attended a beautiful memorial morning in honour of their children, as we opened the new reflection area, by attaching a locks to the fence of the cherry blossom tree. This area is adorned with locks bearing personal messages of love, remembrance, and hope, and is a breathtaking testament of the enduring strength and love of the parents and families who have experienced this unimaginable loss, like Jo-Anne.
This area is also open to further angel parents to visit and place locks on the fence. The locks are specialised and can only be purchased and registered through Jo-Anne at just £10, which covers the cost of the lock. Further donations can be made to help maintain the reflection area. If you would like to pre-order a lock and make an appointment to visit the area, or make a donation please email jo-anne@sitwellarms.com
